Senator Bala Mohammed, who was in
charge of NNPC affairs from July 4, 2016, to July 2019, when he retired from
the Corporation at the age of 60, died early on Saturday. The governor described
Baru ‘s death as a great loss not only to the state of Bauchi and Nigeria, but
also to the world at large.

According to him, the deceased was a
great son of the state, adding that the late Baru contributed to oil
exploration in the North-East of Nigeria. Governor Mohammed added that the
state would never forget Baru’s contributions to the education sector of the
state as well as many empowerment programmes he initiated.

Governor Mohammed then, on behalf of
his family and the people of the state, commiserated with the family of the
deceased and the entire country on his demise. He prayed for the repose of the
soul of the late Baru and the fortitude to bear what he described as
“irreparable loss” of the former NNPC top chief.
