Governor Bello pointedly told them in
a Sunday meeting with the aspirants that this was not possible. Ten out of the
12 aspirants to governorship attended the meeting in Ijapo, Akure and the
capital of the state.

The six aspirants wanted the election
to be postponed because the list of delegates who will take part in the
primaries had not been given.

In response Bello said: “I have
