According to him, the area is an
international gateway to the State of Lagos and must therefore not be defaced
by illegal developments.

“We can halt the pervasive
incidence of illegal and unapproved buildings by enforcing strict compliance
with the planning laws and regulations, protecting the Lagos State Operational
Development Plans,” he added.

Salako further advised those buying or
renting property to ensure they would obtain residential planning permits and
fitness certificates to avoid sealing.
