While Ize-Iyamu said earlier that the

Remember that the incumbent governor,
who has since defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to meet his
second term ambition after losing out on the APC ticket, will square Ize-Iyamu
for the September 19 governorship election. It should be recalled that
Ize-Iyamu who also defected to the APC in December 2016 was the bearer of the
PDP flag.
